North Hawaii Hospice provides compassionate, quality care for terminally ill patients and their families in their homes; people seeking counseling for grief and bereavement; people interested in education about end of life issues; and visitors experiencing a sudden death or trauma while on the Big Island.        Based on the belief that dying is a natural part of life, hospice care helps people find dignity, comfort and hope as they face life-limiting illnesses and bereavement. We support their desire to die in the place of their choice, surrounded by their families, and with their pain managed. We seek to neither hasten nor extend a person’s natural dying process, but rather, to manage pain and symptoms so as to enhance the quality of life of both patient and family.
